Fresh from the Orchard

Orchard Journal

October

We are well into pumpkin season.  The sweet corn and apples are harvested and the leaves and vines in the pumpkin patch are decaying.   This has been a good year despite the late spring and early frost.  The apples ripened late this season and the Honeycrisp were tarter in taste than last year.   The honey also has been harvested and is is darker in color, but more flavorful, this year from last year.  The amur maple are brilliant red!   Each sunny bright Fall day is treasured as we head into winter.
